Creating Paths to Financial Stability: The Next Step, Inc. and Volunteers of America Texas Join Forces

Houston, TX - The Next Step, Inc. (TNSI), a nonprofit organization addressing digital access and literacy, has teamed up with Volunteers of America Texas (VOA Texas) to work towards the shared goal of empowering vulnerable populations to enhance their lives and reach their full potential.

The collaboration gives clients a comprehensive path to financial stability through education and support services. "At TNSI, we have been actively working towards adding financial literacy into our Microsoft Office Basics Program in response to Houston's Adult Literacy Blueprint. Thanks to our partnership with VOA Texas, our clients are connected to a trusted financial education and coaching provider without delay," said Lakisha Bates, Director of Professional Skills Development at The Next Step, Inc. "Also, we are excited for the chance to increase our impact on digital literacy and emotional intelligence skills building. All in our community should have the resources needed to earn a living wage in today’s workforce.”

LaSonya Bishop, Workforce Program Director at VOA Texas, added, “The partnership between TNSI and VOA Texas exemplifies the collective effort to create a brighter, more inclusive future for underserved communities across the state. Together, they [TNSI and VOA] are committed to equipping individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to pursue meaningful careers and build sustainable futures.”
